NASA astronaut Walter M. Schirra was born in Hackensack, New Jersey, USA. Schirra went into space in Mercury 8 (MA-8), and on Gemini 6 and Apollo 7.

November 8th

Hitler attempted to seize power, known as 'The Beer Hall Putsch', the unsuccessful Nazi uprising. Hitler was sent to prison where he wrote 'Mein Kampf', dictating his thoughts to Rudoph Hess.

November 18th

NASA astronaut Alan Shepard was born in East Derry, New Hampshire, USA. He became the first American to go into space in Mercury 3 (MR-3), in 1961, and walked on the Moon on Apollo 14.

Tuberculosis vaccine was developed in France.
