The Amritsar Massacre in India. British troops opened fire on 10,000 people in protest at a Sikh shrine in the Punjab, killing 379 and wounding 1,200.

June 28th

The Treaty of Versailles was signed in Paris, and the treaty redrew the map of Europe. The United States refused to ratify the Treaty of Versailles, very much weakening its rhetoric.

Alcock and Brown crossed the Atlantic by air.

Britain granted constitution to Egypt.

Rutherford split the atom.

The Bauhaus movement was founded by Gropius in Germany.
